Jane/Finch Hockey HEROS Youth Program (2019 - Present) 

In this role, Kaleb acts as a “Hockey Hero” for underprivileged youth. The goal of the program is to promote personal growth using mentor-based hockey programming. Success is measured by the amount of fun the children have - on and off the ice. Kaleb spends his time with the children to develop their techniques and serve as a role model.


York University Community (2018 – Present)

Kaleb currently is on numerous committees at York University such as; Varsity Athletics Student Council Representative, a Member of Lions Leadership and Black and Indigenous Varsity Student-Athlete Alliance, and heads up the Men’s Varsity Hockey Team’s recruiting program.


Dahlgren’s Diabeauties (2017 - Present)


National Ambassador/Volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) (2015 - Present) 

Kaleb is an advocate to the Federal and Provincial Governments on behalf of JDRF Canada. His involvement ensures that people living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) receive support for diabetic supplies, and access to new technologies and research.

He has also been a key individual in the organization of the Annual Fundraising Walk. Using his platform and connections, Kaleb sought out pledges and worked with past Captains to request support.

Throughout the year, Kaleb assists with various duties, and makes public appearances/speeches for JDRF.

Additional Diabetes Volunteering:

Kaleb’s work with diabetes does not stop at JDRF. He is also volunteers with Diabetes Canada, Dexcom, and I Challenge Diabetes. He is a member of the York University Diabetes Club and attends the Lilly Canada Week Presentation.


Government of Canada-Canada’s Volunteer Awards National Advisory Committee Member (2019 - 2020) 

As a member of the National Advisory Committee, Kaleb was responsible for assessing top-ranked nominations with his fellow members. Together, they advised and assisted the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development on all matters related to the selection of award-recipients. Throughout the term of his program, supported the promotion of the program.


Humboldt Recreation Hockey Program (2017 - 2018) 

The Humboldt Recreation Hockey Program was developed by the Humboldt Broncos to help children, not involved in organized hockey, to learn to skate. The program was run by Kaleb and the Broncos’ Assistant Coach, Mark Cross. Towards the end of the program, Kaleb ran the program alone.


Volunteer at St.Dominic Elementary School (2017 – 2018) 

Kaleb joined St. Dominic’s Fifth Grade Class once a week to help with various class projects and learning activities. His roles varied from testing students with Math Flash Cards to providing additional support in topics such as English and Science.


 Humboldt Special Olympics Floor Hockey (2017 - 2018) 

Every Monday evening, a group of Broncos’ players would gather to play hockey against Humboldt’s Special Olympics team. Kaleb greatly enjoyed these Monday evening events.


Volunteer at The Villa - Humboldt Care Home (2017 - 2018) 

The Humboldt Broncos would dedicate their time to The Villa once a month. When needed, they would help to prepare meals, play games and brighten the days of its residents.


“The Taxi Crew” (2017 - 2018) 

Upon learning that some of the individuals of the Humboldt Special Olympic Floor Hockey team were unable to attend games due to poor weather, Kaleb offered to drive them to all the Bronco home games. Split between two different group homes, Kaleb would leave earlier and pick-up his new friends along the way. These “taxi” rides resulted in many great conversations and an unbreakable bond.

Conexus Credit Union Financial Literacy Education (2018) 

Kaleb and a few of his teammates took the initiative to complete a financial literacy course provided by Conexus Credit Union. They used their course knowledge and went to different local schools to present the program to students.


Bronco Volunteer Activities (2017 - 2018)

 Volunteer at Luther Care Seniors Home in Saskatoon (2012 - 2015) 

As a volunteer at the Luther Care Seniors Home, Kaleb spent his time accompanying the residents. He would help them eat, take them for walks, challenge them at board games and socialize.
